FASTConnect® field-installable connectors are precision-engineered connectors that come pre-polished from the factory, eliminating the need for manual polishing in the field. These connectors utilize proven mechanical splice technology to ensure accurate alignment of optical fibers. They feature a factory pre-cleaved fiber stub and a specially formulated index-matching gel, resulting in an immediate low-loss termination for both single-mode and multimode optical fibers.
FASTConnect® connectors are versatile and compatible with various optical fiber sizes, including 250 µm and 900 µm optical fibers, as well as 900 µm, 2 mm, and 3 mm cordage. They support all primary fiber types and are color-coded according to industry standards for easy identification during and after installation.
Each connector includes a factory-installed wedge clip, which is removed and discarded upon completing the termination process. These connectors also incorporate an innovative translucent wedge that enables the use of a common Visual Fault Identifier (VFI) to provide a “pass/fail” signal once physical contact is established.
