Using frequency-based measurements, the LinkIQ tester qualifies installed cabling from 10BASE-T through 10GBASE-T and identifies distance-to-fault information including opens, shorts, split pairs, and unterminated cables. In addition to cable qualification, the tester performs nearest-switch diagnostics that display switch name, port number, VLAN information, advertised network speeds, and PoE details. Integrated IPv4/IPv6 ping testing verifies end-to-end network connectivity without requiring additional devices.

The LinkIQ also supports IEEE 802.3af, 802.3at, and 802.3bt PoE testing up to Class 8 (90W), allowing technicians to validate switch power delivery and troubleshoot powered devices such as wireless access points, VoIP phones, and IP surveillance cameras.
